A Legacy Continues with the Sale of this Quintessential Talaria 48 Flybridge
When passion meets precision, stories like this are written. WATER WE DOING, a 2016 Hinckley Talaria 48 Flybridge, was recently sold by Jack Erbes, Sales Director at Hinckley Yacht Brokerage—and the story behind her changing hands is nearly as compelling as the yacht itself.
The seller of WATER WE DOING is no stranger to the Hinckley family. This was his third Hinckley, and as it turns out, not his last—he’s already preparing to take delivery of his fourth. His journey began with a Talaria 48 Motor Yacht, which he quickly fell in love with. But within a year, he saw a way to elevate the experience even further: build a 48 Flybridge for a more open feel and panoramic command on the water. With countless custom options, including enhanced galley storage, bespoke cabinetry, and a private settee lounge opposite the galley, WATER WE DOING was crafted to be the ultimate dayboat. She was Hull #27 of the 48 series and lovingly kept in Bristol condition over the course of nine years of ownership.
Enter the buyer: a high-energy individual in the midst of blending two families into one, with seven children between them—all of whom get along famously. After two years of conversations with Jack, he initially set out to explore new builds. But the moment Jack mentioned WATER WE DOING—a brokerage listing he confidently called “the nicest Hinckley on the market”—the buyer was hooked. Despite a lengthy search that included time spent exploring other brands, he returned to Hinckley, drawn in by our craftsmanship, heritage, and service.
Rechristened LUCKY 7, this Hinckley now begins her next chapter. She’ll winter in Palm Beach before heading north for her first spring season in New Jersey. And her new owner? Officially a member of the Hinckley family.
Congratulations to all on the successful sale of WATER WE DOING, a yacht that continues to inspire adventure, connection, and confidence on the water.
