Day Tripper I is a very nice example of the flagship of the Alerion fleet, combining the simple sailhandling that make her smaller sisters such great daysailers with a comfortable interior with separate cabins for two couples to enjoy coastal cruising. She has been lightly used and well maintained and is currently stored inside for the winter. A great daysalor that is simple to single hand, she is also a comfortable two cabin cruiser.

The Alerion 41 was designed to be used equally well as an easy to single hand daysailer and also a coastal cruiser comfortably accommodating two couples. Her large cockpit and sail plan is laid out with all sail control lines coming to two electric winches at the helm and the main halyard led to an electric winch on the cabin top at the forward end of the cockpit. Comfortable seating provides plenty of room for family and friends and a removable varnished teak cockpit table is great for meals or happy hour on anchor.

On deck, an ingenious swim platform with swim ladder folds down from the transom providing easy access from the water. The Hoyt jib boom makes tacking and gybing effortless and the fold out anchor roller stores in a locker out of the way when not in use.

Below, a warm, Herreshoff styled interior provides two cabins with double berths, a small but efficient galley, a head and a large full width salon with built in drop leaf table. A clever nav station design at the aft end of the starboard settee can be dropped down to provide another single berth or longer settee if needed.
