VESSEL WALKTHROUGH

The Dyer 29’s Flush Deck (Bass Boat) sleek lines are timeless in their appeal. The sailboat-style cabin finished in Herreshoff-style white tongue and groove paneling is both timeless and conveys the ‘spirit of tradition’ style the owner’s desired; both elegant and sophisticated. The vessel also includes an enclosed head, galley and twin V-berth, perfect for a cruising couple or family. The open cockpit is large enough to accommodate multiple guests for a harbor cruise with sit down space for dining. Whether fishing or picnicking, the Dyer 29 Flush Deck is the cleanest looking model of the legendary Dyer 29-series. Since the first vessel was commissioned (1955), the Dyer-29 lays claim to be the longest running production hull.

The present owner purchased MARUFFA as a couple, and the vessel grew with their family (3-children and dog), and today is truly considered part of their family. MARUFFA has cruised throughout New England and more recently Northern California and is now at Hinckley Yacht Services in Portsmouth, RI.

This vessel has been maintained and restored with an open checkbook (no expense spared), while paying homage to its remarkable history, and its first owner (grandson of Henry Babson, who commissioned the first Philip Rhodes-designed Maruffa, a 67’ yawl, built in 1935, Pendleton Shipyard in Wiscasset, Maine).

The original S/V MARUFFA’ s racing dossier was, and is, impressive, including the Chicago-Mackinaw, Newport-Bermuda, Swiftsure Series (Pacific Northwest); and Swiftsure Triple Crown, Traspac Race. John ‘Jack’ Graham was the 2nd custodian of MARUFFA (2-time Seattle YC Commodore, and world-renowned architect). The last owner of MARUFFA was Katherine ‘Kit’ Green (22), heir to the Kodak fortune. Sadly, MARUFFA was lost on the rocks on the east coast of the South Island of New Zealand in 1979 on a moonless evening.

HULL AND DECK:

• NEW 60m polycarbonate windshield panels (x2) by Sausalito Canvas works 
• Sunbrella navy cushions w/ red piping for rear bench, engine box, helm-seat, passenger seat., v-berth & v-berth insert by OKTO Canvas 
• NEW Classic stainless steel lever galley pump by Fynspray 
• NEW Freshwater flexible bladder tank elegantly installed under v-berth with integrated stainless steel fill valve on deck
• Custom-fabricated vintage solid brass porthole installed in head w/ two solid brass dog-ears to secure

Helm Station (Starboard):

• Custom built solid teak helm box with integrated Simrad (autopilot, plotter, radar), Side-power updated bow thruster control, Lenco trim-tab switch + ICOM VHF handset plug, Lewmar Windlass V700 switch each mounted on a custom fabricated piece of stainless steel. Additionally, top-mounted vintage Morse control & ‘start’ & ‘stop’ buttons

• NEW Custom designed mahogany galley with integrated, flush-mounted, icebox lid actuated by a stainless-steel gas strut, flush-mounted mahogany galley basin top, integrated enamel plates, bowls and silverware.
•  A custom designed storage compartment behind stainless galley basin, and adjacent to integrated silverware location.
• Paper-towel mount is located above plates & bowls.
• Galley cabinet below galley sink includes two custom shelves (1-w/ mahogany endcap, satin finish), and additional storage under lower shelf
